Add or Remove Programs only populates 4 programs!

i recently went thru a malware attack. details can be found here: http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=28340

the only thing left is that i cannot use MS Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

I get 4 programs populated and then thats it, just hangs there.

i've searched all over the net, but everyone in the world has "add or remove programs" in their posts, so its impossible to narrow down.

so, im stuck and i have exhausted my usual reference - google searches...

anyone experienced this?

any help is much appreciated.

I have seen several postings on another forum regarding the Add/Remove applet, some completely blank with others having incomplete listings. Unfortunately, I have not discovered any solutions to what seems to be a frequent problem for Windows users.

I use the freeware utility Add/Remove Pro 2.08 (superwin.com) to uninstall programs, downside being lack of a repair option. You might want to use it as a workaround until you are able to repair the Windows applet. Nirsoft's MyUninstaller is another option, also freeware.

Wish I could offer a solution - I'm not that fond of workarounds.
