I've been fighting with my computer since Friday the 13th (no fooling). So now I'm having to look at everything. In Add/Remove Programs, SpamFighter (which I use every day) shows "Rarely". SpamSubtract which I thought I'd uninstalled MONTHS ago shows "Frequently". How is this possible? I never could get SpamSubtract to work.

Don't worry about rarely, occasionally or whatever.

It's rarely accurate and occasionally wrong. :)

Mine does the same, I have programs that I use almost everyday that say rarely and others I hardly use that say occasionally.

    Ignore it.

Thanks a million! The only thing that bugs me is that when I double click the desktop icon, I get a message that says "SpamSubtract is currently running on your computer" and suggests that I reboot if I'm having trouble. Is there any chance that even though I'm not using it, it's using one of my files that's needed by the system -- and if I remove the program, I'll lose some stinkin' file that's needed by something else?

On a personal note, we just had a guy in from Vermont (we're in Texas) to work on our casemaker. He had just returned from doing an installation of the same machine in Sydney and said he loved it. The people were the friendliest and most hospitable he had ever encountered.

He obviously never met me. :D

It's a ploy. We're nice to tourists so they spend their money.

Permanent residents and immigrants get different treatment. :)

If you're not using SpamSubtract and you want to get rid of it, just uninstall it.

If you're worried about system files, create a Restore Point (if applicable) first beforehand.

If it won't let you saying it's in use, uninstall it in Safe Mode.
