Add/Remove Windows Comp. Error

I am running Windows XP. I was having trouble opening applets in yahoo (still can't) so I thought I would update my Java (now SE6), update Firefox (now 2.0.0.1), and update windows just in case that was the problem.

I still can't open the applets, but I also just noticed that I can't open my Add/Remove Windows Compenents. When I attempt to, I get an error that says, "application failed to start because RESUTILS.dll was not found." Then the next error box says, "Setup library iis.dll could not be loaded or function OcEntry could not be found. Error code 0x7e"

I checked on the Microsoft website and located their solution to this error, which was:

1. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click System.
2. On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
3. Under System Variables, click Path, and then click Edit.
4. Click inside the Variable value box, and then press END to put the insertion point at the end of the Variable value box.
5. Type ;%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WBEM, and then click OK.
6. Click OK, and then click OK.

I tried their solution and I still cannot open the Add/Remove Windows Compenents.

Any suggestions?

No, after clicking on Add/Remove programs, there's the other tab that says Add/Remove Windows Components

 

Hello, has this been resolved already? I'm experiencing this error from a Windows 2003 Standard SP2..
