HP Compaq Presario V6700 notebook. Currently has 2 x 1.00 GB DDR2 RAM @333 MHz and I want to add at least another 2 GB of RAM. Obviously I will not be using the current sticks so I need to know what to buy, ie do I have to get 333 MHz? Looking on eBay I have seen 4GB KIT 2X2GB PC2-5300S DDR2-667Mhz 200-PINS SO-DIMM Laptop Memory Module. I am totally ignorant about memory so I need to know if this would be suitable. I have the specs from Speccy but don't know what the motherboard info means.

4gb of Ram is the maximum that system supports.
Running the Crucial memory scanner will tell you exactly what type of RAM stick you need.
It will also tell you the number of RAM slots it has - that is important since for equal ram in each slot for efficiency its best to match the slots - 2 slots would mean 2gb stick in each slot. If there are four slots you only need to use two of them, or 1gb in each of four slots. The scan will tell you how many slots.
