We have a Dell Dimension 4300 with 256MB ram. We are thinking about adding more Ram (system has 2 memory slots), one being free, one with ther original 256MB.

We checked with Dell about buying 256MB, but they don't have it, they did tell us we could add 512MB to the second slot? Is that correct? I've always been under the impression that you need to "match" what you have?

Also, does anyone know another source to buy 256MB Ram compatible for this system?

    Thanx,
    Leezza

THANK YOU! Would this be fairly easy to install? Or would we need to send it out?
