Adding New HD - 1 man 2 probs

Day 2:

I'm trying to add a new HD to a very old Dell Optiplex GX1.
Existing HD is a Maxtor (model 90432D3) and has only one jumper switch. At boot, I see that Primary Drive 0 not found, so I'm trying to set it as the master drive.

I have installed an Ultra ATA/133 Host adapter to connect the new HD but cannot see the new drive.

Running XP Pro / 384 MB Ram / 1GB Free Space

 

I'm assuming that when you say it only has one jumper switch that you mean the little widget you use to "jumper" the pins. Well to set the HD as Master the widget has to jumper the first pair of pins (closest to the IDE cable).
