I would like to add more RAM to my laptop. Where can I look to see what kind I need as far as DDR, DDR2, etc? Or will it not matter as long as I get notebook RAM?

The laptop is a Gateway mx6446.

    Thanks in advance!

Go on Newegg.com and they have RAM finder. Fill in specs and they will show correct type.

Prices are good, dependable company and quick ship.

Make sure you know how many slots avail in your laptop. I bought two 1GB chips for my son's dell to find out only one slot. They took back no problem just a hassle to return.

You do not have to buy the RAM from crucial but the site is excellent to let you know the maximum amount of RAM, if it needs to be installed in pairs, the speed(s), and other specs like ECC or non-ECC.
