This has probably got a simple solution but...
My mom's laptop (OS is Vista) has the size of the view of the screen set to LARGE because of her failing eyesight (she's 87). She has to register a software package but CAN'T because the "accept" or "OK" or whatever buttons are at the bottom of the screen and out of visible range. There's no slider bar on this screen and it will only drag up so far--not far enough to make the acceptance buttons visible. When I go to "Personalize" the "OK" and/or "apply" buttons are off the screen at the bottom too when I try to change the view. What to do?

I'm at a PC running Windows 7, but I think this will also work on Vista:

Try going into Control Panel and selecting Display. You should be able to change the display back to normal (100%) versus large (150%). You can change the screen back to large after registering the software package.

    Hope this helps. :)

In XP you go to the Control Panel, and then "Personalization" and then "Display Settings" and there is no size selection. There is "resolution" but that's all--as far as I can tell. I can't remember how the view got so big. For most things it's fine--it's this silly screen with no slider bar or way to make it smaller. You can't grab a corner and contract it, for example. I made the taskbar on the bottom of the screen disappear unless you move the cursor over it, but that still didn't expose the bottom of this window...

Temporarily attach a monitor to the laptop.
The monitor should be able to display the buttons at the bottom of the window.

I thought of that, just too lazy to do it. We've got two 22" monitors over here at my house, but I don't want to crawl around on the ground and unplug them from wall and computer (both are on "desktop" computers that sit on the ground under desks...). Maybe an old 15" CRT monitor will do, eh?
