I'm working on a laptop and the only account on the PC is now a Guest account with no privileges, I guess his kids were playing with passwords and stuff and somehow ended up setting the main/only account to Guest (there is no password). I figured I'd boot in safe mode and log in as Administrator, but this doesn't happen, it boots straight to the desktop w/o the normal safe mode login screen, and again the acct is Guest w/ limited privileges. How do I set the Guest acct back to Administrator??

    Thanks!

    (Windows XP Pro SP2)

    :celebrate Problem solved!!!

I used a bootable Admin password changer and created a new password for the 'deleted' Admin account; I used 12345 'cuz it was easy to remember and hard to mess up. I then booted to the main/guest account and clicked Start > Run and typed control userpasswords2 and I was prompted to login as the Administrator and I was asked for the Administrator password. So entered 12345 and I could then change the guest account to Administrator. A reboot later and all is well!!!
    :-D :cool :dancer
