 I'm trying to reformat my computer but i don't know that admin password. Is there a default? Also i can't change the admin password from another (admin) account b/c it doesn't show up in the control panel. Also on the windows log on screen, the administrator doesn't show up unless i'm in safe mode. Is there a way to get around this?

Boot to safe mode as a user with admin rights then change the passwords.

If one is wanting to reformat there computer, then why is one even caring about the admin passwor? Just curious. ;)

Edit: I see that foogoo replied basically the same thing I did.
