Adobe Acrobat Reader Dc For Win8.1

I saved a pdf file from TaxAct with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. (it was installed automatically by TaxAct) . Now I cannot view the pdf which has been saved to my documents folder. The file will not open in full view. Instead it is showing as an abbreviated view and I cannot read the document. Is it possible to convert the Adobe Reader pdf to Foxit Reader, or how can I view the pdf in full view with Adobe Acrobat? I have set Adobe to open documents in full view but this does not help. Also, whenever I try to access any Adobe sites in their forums the pc screen keeps blinking on and off. I do not want to lose my taxact saved downloads. Please help!

I personally would not rely on a piece of third-party software installing the correct and up to date version of a different helper program.
You need to check carefully what version of Adobe Reader it installed, and if it is not the latest, then uninstall it and install the correct version from here:
https://get.adobe.com/ and then choose your operating system and your language.
Any pdf documents saved to your computer will not be lost simply by reinstalling Adobe Reader.

 

You could also set Foxit Reader as your default for .PDFs

Go to Contro Panel -> Default Programs and select Associate a file type with a specific program. scroll down to .pdf and the one just below it.

 

Thank you Max for your suggestion. I will uninstall Adobe Reader as I find it very unreliable, and if necessary will install it again if I need to. I will try Foxit Reader as suggested by mdonah.
