I use firefox as my main browsers, used to use chrome but for the most part i use firefox.

Google chrome seems to update the flashlite etc.. automatically within their browser but firefox doesn't.

I did not start getting this issue until about 2 days ago where firefox just keeps prompting me to update to the newest version of shockwave flash ( i have 11.1 i think). So most of the websites videos don't load up for me to play them ( such as youtube).

I go to the top tab on top of the browser where it says ''firefox'' and from the drop down menu i pick '' add ons'' from there is only notes that i should update the shockwave flash but i can't.

When i click on '' update now'' it just takes me to this page https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p160. The thing is it mentions its blocking adobe flash 10.2 < but yet i am running 11.1..

Anyways i try to go to the main page where i can download the plugin directly but i still can't because its not there..

A page on firefox directs me to the adobe site and where to get the plugin so i go here https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. However like i mentioned previously i cannot see a download button for the plugin.

This is all i see on the page section to download the newest version

''Adobe Flash Player 11.6.602.180 (15.7 MB)

Your system: Windows 64-bit , English, Firefox
Do you have a different operating system or browser?

By clicking the Download now button, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Adobe Software Licensing Agreement.

Please note, depending on your settings, you may have to temporarily disable your antivirus software.''

I just to want update this plugin so firefox stops acting up every time i turn it on.

Another thing i wanted to ask is how much CPU usage is supposed to be used when using a browser?

Because lately it seems to take anywhere from 28-40% which seems excessive. I ran virus scans already too and everything came clean.

In the task manager the only notable thing taking a chunk of the cpu is firefox which is around 340,000 K which i am not sure if its normal. I never payed attention to this before until i started hearing my fan running more while just simply using the browser.

I couldn't find any download from that page you listed. The only thing i saw was a hyperlink for the adobe newest plugin, which is the same page i previously mentioned was near useless to me because there is no download button.

The yellow '' download now'' button i don't see it displayed in my page.

This is for windows 7 and below, non-IE browsers
    Code:
    http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin.exe
You will get a popup in FF for the download.

There are two download links (one for Internet Explorer, one for other browsers) under the heading Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile.

Thanks it fixed the issue, and also since i updated the flash player my browser is not eating a chunk of my cpu anymore.

For the past 3 days it was eating anywhere from 25-38% of it by simply just browsing regular pages, and the fan was noisy. Now my cpu fan is quiet, and the browser drains no more than 5% cpu in most cases.
