Adobe Flash Plater Esr Issue

On 2nd July 2015, I started a thread, “What’s the risk with Adobe Flash Player” (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/whats-the-risk-with-adobe-flash-player.293742/). In it I was advised to get the Extended Support Release (ESR) version, which I did. I have no problems with it or complaints about it. What I wanted to ask was does it really require updating every few weeks or could I be having an issue? I found that when I first installed the ESR version it worked fine. After a few weeks anything that required Flash Player wouldn’t work and said I needed to update it. This happens I would estimate every few weeks. Does Adobe update ESR that often? Could I be having a problem with it?

 

In short, yes. There was an update for Flash Player a couple of days ago. Windows 8.1 and 10 include updates for Flash Player for Internet Explorer in Windows Updates. For the other versions (like for Firefox) you need to let Flash Player automatically update or update it manually in which case you'd need to run the Flash Player Uninstaller first. Flash Player won't install over a previous version.

 

I've no idea if the ESR version updates automatically, I've always updated it manually, the auto-updater might not trigger for 2-3 days after the update is released anyway.

I've just noticed that there's a second download page for the ESR that's not going to be decommissioned until June, I don't know if that page will hold any later versions of the ESR that the 'normal' page does though.
