My wife has a Acer laptop with Windows 7. Recently, she has been unable to access a few crossword puzzles and games which are advising that Adobe Flash must be installed. She has been doing the crosswords, etc., for years without problems.

Adobe Flash is actually installed. In fact, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail with the same message that "Adobe Flash must be installed" to gain access.

    What browser is she using?
If anything besides IE, flash must also be installed for that browser.
latest flash for IE (all versions of windows except Win 8/8.1)
    Code:
    http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_12_active_x.exe
latest flash for all other browsers
    Code:
    http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_12_plugin.exe

What browser? If IE, check that the Shockwave Flash add-on is enabled, and that ActiveX Filtering is disabled.

Problem is solved. Thank you for the input. Apparently IE was updated automatically to version 11 and ActiveX filtering was still enabled. Disabling it resolved the issue. :)
