This is not a topic for the Spyware Forum. Moving to Software. However you should be the one to answer what you need and do not need. No one else really knows that.

Acrobat Reader will be needed sometimes (like reading documents in PDF format).

Acrobat Reader is usefull for if you need to read PDF files, no most online documents ( eg. motherboard manuals ) come in this format so I would say yes its useful.

as to all those programs, well

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopalbum/starter.html
so if this is useful to to keep it? ( now upto version 3.0 )

I have suggestion, why not remove them all ( add/remove ) and install Adobe Reader 7 again but this time without having the Yahoo toolbar or Photoshop album Started edition ticked thus only installing the latest Acrobat Reader?

    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
Untick Yahoo toolbar and PS Started Edition 2.0

Yes you can remove the Adobe Download Manager, personally never bothered with it, but it can help with any further downloads from Adobe ( it only takes up about 1mb of space )

Did you uninstall all the adobe software via add/remove or just delete the folders?

What is the location of this Adobe 6, meaning is it in add/remove, a folder?

If in add/remove then uninstall it.

Perfectly fine using this original post to continue the same topic :)

i removed everything that said adobe on my add remove programs and reader 6 wasnt on there

then i went into my pictures and removed adobe photoshops folder then i went into programs folder and removed the adobe folder

so im not sure why i still have adobe reader 6

oh and i think reader 6 is in a folder called cache

Could it be this location C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\6.0 ?

if so wouldnt worry as I have that one also, I have Acrobat 7 Pro and that folder takes up 25kbs next to zilch! Most likely compatability files etc

i used search again for adobe i looked at properties for adobe reader 6 folder and it says c:\windows\cache

    but whats cache

i tried to uninstall 6 but it said this action is only valid for products that are currently installed

    Which OS?

Caches are generally temp locations for files, is Acrobat Reader 6 in Add/Remove if not then this mat well be a compatability location for version 7, as I mentioned I have a Acrobat 6 folder and no acrobat 6 installed... size of files are not worth worrying about.

no no its not in add/remove programs and i dont remember it being in there when i removed everything that said adobe either

i tried uninstalling 6 and the adobe photoshop but they both said they were already uninstalled

    and whats a os

im not sure which cache it just says c:\windows\cache

OS = Operating System ( windows, linux etc version )

With them not being listed in Add/Remove then are the uninstallers you are trying in the Start Menu or in a folder? maybe that the actual programs have been uninstalled but you still have links in start menu or folders.

if they are just links or random folders then just delete them, reason I say this is if adobe 7 doesnt work or crashes all you need to do is re-install it.

    i have windows xp

well the adobe photoshop says its in c\windows/downloaded installations

    and adobe 6 says c\windows/cache/adobe reader 6

both have little computers and a cd icon next to them

and the 6 has a folder also its in the cache folder too

and thier not in the start toolbar thing im looking at the list of all the things that say adobe on my search

Delete them as they look to me as old residuals.

I deleted a stack of apps that were in my Downloaded Installatiosn folder just this week with no problems.
