I have a .pdf file i use at work, i would like to be able to fill it out, prior to printing, so i do not have to hand write it, is there a way to change this?

It really depends on the security settings of the PDF file. If these allow you to edit the file then away you go but if it is protected from being edited then you will find it nigh on impossible. Ask the people who created the file to change the security settings would be the easiest thing to try first.

Some .PDFs can be created that allows user input. Just can't save the file with that user input. But, once everything is filled in, you can print away.

Also if you have Acrobat Pro or access to it you can just use the Typewriter tool ( Tools > Typewriter ) to type into the boxes.
