Adobe Photo Deluxe 4 Problem

I have been using this very old graphic program for years. The setting is for XP service pack 3. It now has stopped working on my Windows 7 Ultimate. It will not run. I removed it using Advanced Uninstaller pro, and reinstalled from the original cd.
Same problem. It will not run. Not responding.
I have a similar PC with the same windows program, and it runs fine. It installed and runs with no problems/
Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks

When you load the program CD are you right clicking on the set up file > properties > and choosing a compatibility mode?

Also compare the 3rd party security software used on the two machines, it might be that something like CryptoPrevent blocks a file from running from the default install location and prevents it from accessing/installing there. Reliability Monitor might show error details.

Yes. Done all you suggested. When I click to install, all I get is an hourglass. Nothing else. My other pc is using the exact same Windows program ( from the original disks ). I copied the cd and tried to install from that, and same results.

All I can suggest is to create a folder on your desktop of the computer refusing to install the program. Copy the contents of the CD to the newly created folder. Remove the CD from the drive and try to do the install from the folder on the desktop.

You said you copied the CD but I'm not clear if you did what I suggested above or you made a CD to CD copy.
