I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 loaded on my PC. Is this edition as good as a normal Photoshop programme or do I need to load another photoshop programme inorder to use this properly?

    Hi

Elements is a normal program. 2.0 is an older version, but if it works, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you are wondering about Elements compared to Adobe Photoshop C4, Elements is much more basic.

Unless you are going to be heavily editing or creating graphics, you should be fine with Elements, which will allow you to do your basic photo touchups.

There is also about a $600 difference between the two.

    Hi

I agree with Laura, stick with Elements, I have Elements and Photoshop CS4 and to be honest Photoshop is way way too powerful for most photo editing tasks as many users just need the basic and simple steps to creating edits which Elements offers over at times multi layer and various effects that you have to go in PS

Also most users that have Photoshop installed only use about 5% of what Photoshop can achieve, I have inthe past done at least 3 courses on Photoshop and I only know about 30% of what it can do. Unless you are a pro designer or photographer it's an overkill app IMHO

I used elements for a while, and got greedy and got a student licence of CS4 from uni. I gave up on photoshop since, its too complicated. if anything Ill go back to elements

I do some work with Adobe - if you're in the market for Photoshop, you can pick up the Student Editions of Creative Suite 4 for up to 80% off the full commercial price.

Adobe has a 30-day trial version of Creative Suite 4 products here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/?promoid=EQHLE, which you can also use to try to get a feel for Photoshop.
