Adobe Reader 8.1.2

I signed up for HP computer course. Part of the class was to download a printable version. I proceeded to do so when a window popped up said I needed Adobe Reader 8.1.2 to get a print out of the lessons. I did so but then the adobe window said unable to print. Following instructions I removed the program to try again. Same error message. The program could not be removed. I then searched Adobe Reader for the error "1714" received information to remove all previous Adobe and Acrobat versions, which I did but could not delete 8.1.2. I cannot use adobe at all now. I just receive the eoor message. How can I straighten this out, please? :cry I tried to restore to an earlier date when I had 8.1.1 but it didn't help.

I am receiving the message from Internet Explorer, "The system cannot find the file specified." Going to look for it at microsoft. Will let you know what happens.

I followed the instructions, downloaded the file remove the previous version of Adobe but when I downloaded Adobe 8.1.2 again it aborted mid-download with this error "Adobe has detected a corrupt file (checksum). The program has been closed without installing. Info ID: 6800.317.14.2.10096. Please send info id to http://www. adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html. I sent the error message on to Adobe but now have no adobe reader. Any advice????? Thank you.

I found this thread by way of a google search. I was finding no help with my issues at Adobe. I followed all your directions and I now have the reader!
