Adobe reader help

hi all, does anyone know why I can't get the Adobe 7.02 update to work? It says "setup cannot find required product. Setup will now terminate." I can't get adobe program to come up either ...when I click on the icon nothing happens. I have tried downloading Adobe 7.0 again, and it downloaded but won't work... any ideas? thanks

ok, I removed adobe and then downloaded it from the adobe site...heck once i did that I couldn't even manuver around the adobe site without freezing up at the site and taking forever to navigate the site itself...still can't bring up adobe reader by double clicking icon on desktop, and inspite of saying no to the Yahoo task bar and adobe photoshop album, they put them on anyway! Do I really need Adobe reader ?

 

Adobe reader is only necessary to for reading PDF documents. They are becoming more popular so, it wouldn't hurt to have it, but no, it's not "essential"

 

Handy to have Acrobat / Adobe reader on your pc though.

I have version 5.0.5 on mine (still) which works very well without the bloat of subsequent versions.

Why not install that. Many people are reverting back to that version (go to oldversions.com for get it; unless of course it is available on this site).
