ADSL Modem

i have an adsl modem but no idea what make it is and no idea of the ip to log into it please help

 

So, you have an ADSL modem with no stickers on it at all? No make and model? No manual that came with it? No box?

 

it is a small white box that has ethernet/usb adsl modem written on it there are no model or serial numbers and i trie 192.168.0.1 and a couple of others thinking it would be like my router but no joy.

 

I would expect 192.168.0.1 as a best guess default IP for cable/DSL routers' web interfaces, but not necesarily modems. My Alcatel SpeedTouch, for example has a default IP to its telnet interface of [size=-1]10.0.0.138.[/size]

Suggest that you place it on a table and then photograph it from above. Light it from the side if there are shadows. A clearer shot is needed.

Maybe, if there is anything that may be relevant. Turn it over, and photograph the back as well. Bazza

So, 10.0.0.2. This is a class A address isn't it?

 

thanks this is indeed the modem in question only trouble is i dont have a patch cable at home to test it lol...i guess i will have to make one when i get to work.

Another way to find the router IP...
Start - Run - type CMD - Dos Box appears, then type "IPconfig". this will show general a list of IP addresses, you are looking for default gateway IP, copy this into your address bar and Bingo... wel hopefully

 

hi guys thnx for all your help but i got to work made a patch cable and went to log in and it said password and username invalid....so i smashed it found a way round my problem of not being able log into msn anyway i used something called Dr.tcp and altered the MTU so aol would work properly
