The Internet works without my printer ( MFC-5460CN ) attached but whenever I attach it to the USB port and then try to connect to the Internet it hangs on verifying user name and password then gives me a timeout error. I have tried the same combination in a different computer and it all works together, after I tried this I figured it to be a mainboard problem so I changed the board from an Asus M2N to an Asus M2N-mx. I'm just sat here scratching my noggin now and wondered if anyone had any ideas about this weird problem.

p.s i've also tried a different USB ADSL Modem than the one sent by talk talk but I still get the exact same problem.

    confused

Presumably the printer and moden are plugged into different usb ports? The modem will not work through an external usb splitter or hub device.

You can set which usb ports are enabled in bios, maybe one is taking precedence.

Why not use the ethernet with the printer? The CN version has one, mine works really well.
