    hello there.

i have some music files that i want to rename.

I have around 500 files, in the following syntax:

    "Artist - mixNumber1 11-05-05"

What i want to do is rename the files all at once, so that the artist remains the same, but the mixNumber increases by 1 everytime and the date also increases (by 14 days everytime).

Is this possible, or will i have to do it manually, taking me AGES to do it :-(

You can try Oscar's Renamer http://www.mediachance.com/free/renamer.htm . It will let you edit the file names like you are typing in a text document. I haven't really used the program extensively, so I don't know if it has a batch command to make it any faster than what I just mentioned... but it'd be worth checking into.

On a side note, if you ever need to rename, resize, etc. images, use FastStone Image Viewer. Its batch routines are superb. http://www.faststone.org
