Advanced Spyware Remover virus

I tried to install the latest version several times but everytime AntiVir detects a virus. Some kind of trojan. I don't know if it comes from ASR itself but everytime I try to install it the same virus is found on different files but in the same directory. Anyone else encountered this? I just deleted the virus everytime. And I gave up on ASR.

 

Advanced Spyware Remover is on the Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites. That might be why your AV is picking it up. Its a sham.


I HIGHLY recommend that you run through the instructions in the How To Protect Yourself From Malware. This will set you up with an excellent, redundant FREE defense against spyware and viruses.

 

In my case I didn't get pop ups I had a question about updating it, which led me to this.

After further review I can't seem to find anything wrong with this utility, as I went looking for similar reports, I didn't see it on the Spyware Warrior site either.

 

I did some more research last night concerning "Advanced Spyware Remover", I felt something amiss, after running several scans I found the software as clean as clean can be. Prevx Edge > Avira > A-Squared all clean. Why Spyware Warrior gave them a failing grade I can't see it. Major Geeks reads it a hot download, now I understand why..

I sent them a note asking why the update was so old, me thinks they have me chasing my tail..
