Advanced System Care won't quit running

I've been running the Pro version of Advanced System Care. I can't get it to load *only* when I want to. I've been in touch with the ASC folks and they've told me to change this and set that, all of which I've done, but it still loads itself with no help from me and tries to phone home.

The ASC folks keep asking me which firewall I'm using. I can't see why that would matter to them, unless they want to figure out some kind of end run around my firewall, so that ASC can continue to load itself against my wishes, but I just won't know. I don't want to help them to do that.

IMO, if the program weren't running, my firewall wouldn't comment on it. Am I missing something here? Is there some *legitimate* reason they would need to know which firewall I'm using that doesn't involve trying to defeat it? I haven't been able to get them to give me a reason, so far. I'm about to just delete the software entirely.

Which firewall are you using? Have you checked their support/help for any ideas?

Anyway- post the "brand" of firewall you use, and we'll try to help. However, the MAIN reason that I do not use any IObit software is because of their need to leave the software constantly running in the backgroud, accessing the internet, and eating resources and doing stuff that I don't want it to do.... but that's my opinion and experience, I'm sure others think their stuff is great.....

Anyway - like I said, post the firewall you use and we'll see what we can do for you.

 

No you don't need it too keep running i do mine manually i would go into there settings turn off minimize too system tray turn off load auto at windows start up turn off Performance monitor Turn off all Notifications turn off Active boost.Do every thing manually.

 

I'm using ESET, the latest version.
