Advent 9107 Desktop

Hi Folks,
I am new on here so I hope somebody can help me.
I do part-time work on Computers mainly software but a friend has asked me about her Advent 9107 desktop. Her problem is that it keeps switching itself off and she says that she then gets a message stating BIOS upgrade needed. Now I haven't seen this myself but I did notice that the last time she had a problem, I had to take out the CMOS battery to reset and allow it to reboot. Problem is I am sure that I've read or seen somewhere that there is a faulty capacitor fault common to the Advent 9107. Can anybody tell me if I am right because i don't want to sort it out and tell her everything is OK then have it keep switching off. Also if there is a BIOS upgrade where can I find it
