advertisements in my email

I've had the same email address for several years---yahoo---every day now for the past several months I have spam and advertisements I cannot delete from my in-box. Extremely aggravating. Anybody recommend an anti-spam tool or should I just create a new e-mail and with who? Thanks so much--Steve

I use Yahoo, which I have since 1999 daily. I have never been unable to delete any message from the inbox. (We're talking Windows 9.x, ME, 2K, XP and 7).

What browser and version are you using? What version of Windows?
Take a screenshot of your inbox (you can use paint to erase any identifying details like your username), load it up to a site like ImageBam and post it here.

Yahoo does have an advertising strip that can be removed with the proper tools. I want to see exactly what ads you are referring to before I offer instructions.

If you use Firefox, then there is an extension for you. Don't know if there is a similar extension for other browsers. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/yahoomailhideadpanel/
