My IE was being sent to a redirected host site and I resolved that problem with chaslang. Now the problem is that whenever I type in a URL in IE, such as www.cnn.com for example, it tries to find cnn.com then it searches cnn.com.com, cnn.com.org, cnn.com.net, cnn.com.edu and then it says page cannot be found. I'm using Firefox for my browser, but there are some pages that require IE. chaslang advised me that I should try to re-install Win XP. I want to back up programs that are important, but I am not sure how to go about this. Here is my setup. I got two 200+ GB hard drives. On one hard drive, I got a 20 GB partition for my Win XP install. The rest of it is junk. The other hard drive is for my music, games, etc. I'm sure some where along the lines I accidentally put some programs into my C: (which is where Win XP is).

Is there anything else I should try to do to get my IE working or should I go ahead and reinstall XP? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.

you can go to best buy and get imaging software, then just image the second drive, and the non c part of your first drive, then once you install windoze again and get your partitions right, just throws the cds back into the computer and it will be exactly like you had it before, except a new install of windoze.

I'm in Italy right now so best buys aren't readily available. Is there any imaging software that I could buy online and download?

Frankly Acronis True Image is much better than Ghost. I've been using it (TI) for nearly 3 years and besides some issues with the last build (859), it's never let me down, not even once. I had a chance to try Ghost 9 and although it works fine, but I find TI blows it out of the water in terms of speed and general ease of use. Besides TI is $20 cheaper than Ghost $49 compared to $69 (that is prices from their own sites).

Before I do a re-install has anyone seen the problem that I'm having with internet explorer? And if so, what did you do to fix it?
