Advice on Dell dimensions 4600 drivers needed

Hello well thankfully its been a while since ive been here!

I have a Dell dimensions 4600 and have recently formatted and installed win xp pro version 2002
my problem is due to the lack of an Ethernet controller driver! I do have the dell dimensions Resource cd which is most unhelpfull and anything I have tried didnt work I also went on the Dell support download site but to no avail I have downloaded a number of dofferent drivers which have not resolved my issues and have re instaled now abour three times!

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. Rusty

Thanks, yes I allready instaled that, but no joy...:confused

 

Ok I updated to a service pack two thinking this may make a difference but it never helped! Also the light where the ethernet port is the green light is on :cry

 

Thanks for the help hrlow2 I thought it had to be something silly, and yes it was me..... I installed the diagonstic driver and not the driver itself. How foolish lol well fixed up and ready to rock. Cya
