yeah, i am not looking for advice, but giving it!

ok, i bought a RETAIL sony dru710a, and it worked great. however, about a year later or so, it broke, so i sent it into sony. instead of just giving me another 710a, they gave me a 810a, which is the latest drive they have. so, i guess all i am saying is if you're thinking about getting a new drive, and you'll be using it alot, i would reccomend sony. i am very happy with their service!

Just for your information, Sony don't actually build their drives.

    The dru710a is a re-badged LiteOn drive.

    The dru810a is a re-badged BenQ drive.
