yes that board supports raid. Raid 0 is faster for gaming. raid 1 is more secure as it backs up your data.

Never really noticed any benefit to running raid0 is a gaming senario as they dont page to the HD that often to make the difference... now if your doing video/image/audio editing and dealing with large files then yes it does help.

Raid0 also comes more into its own when used with more than two HDs, but again it will not improve your frame rates.

I personally would be more inclined to get a 74gb WD Raptor and a 2nd HD this can be Seagate/WD/Maxtor 160gb ( even tho I would personally go with a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ 160GB 6L160MO SATA 8MB )

n.b... before peeps think I'm against raid, I use raid0 on my main pc.

For desktop gaming performance, raid 0 is typcially a placebo affect.

But, anyway, here are some links:

I dont play games, so those links are lost on me I'm afraid ( yes I have installed the odd one HL2 is still on my PC, but noticed no difference than that of a none Raided PC ), I installed raid0 because when building this PC it was an option on the motherboard I bought 2yrs ago so I decided to play a little and as my job at the time was imaging I thought I'd give it a go.

And if you read the bit before that I urge against using Raid for gaming as their is no benefit... but I guess you keep on wanting to butt heads?

I added the nota bene just incase someone thought I was against Raid, and the reason Raid0 is still their, not as I need to justify myself is I cannot be bothered to remove it.

Hmmm, no, I wasn't butting heads. I was mostly posting this for the benefits of others here, in case other people just wouldn't believe you.

I've already read what you posted.

But, for others, some like links for proof. Not that you needed proof.

Just trying to back YOU up. Not trying to cause a conflict! :)

Well, according to my friend who has brewed for about 2 years, he says that my IPA Toungue splitter is a very good IPA.

So, I'd pass one of those to you.

Here is a description of that IPA:

Neat sounds a tasty brew :)

so I guess we are both of the opinion that for the original poster RAID0 wont help in gameing performance.

    I agree on both parts.

The brew not only sounds tasty, but it smells tasty and tastes tasty. :)
