Advice on setting up new PC

    Is there advice on this forum on the best practice for setting up a new PC and migrating programs/file/setting over?

    Not as such but here is my advice.

    Programmes
    These must be re-installed and can not be "migrated".

    Files
    Simply copy and paste these however you feel most appropriate. either over network, USB flash drive, DVD or install the old PC hard disk as a slave.

    Settings
    Not sure what you mean by this.
