Upgrading my current system and am in a bit of a quandary.
    1. Trying to decide between AMD64 4000+ and a AMD Athlon X2 4200.

    2. Going with a Asrock 939 Dual Sata 2 motherboard for the reason that I have an AGP video card X850 XT PE, which I purchased for $300 CDN, and don't want to let go.

    3. My current system is AMD64 3200+, Asus K8V SE Deluxe. (Clawhammer and has no upgrade possibilities with a socket 754 mobo).

Have ordered a AMD64 4400 X2 and Asrock mobo, locally for Monday, but am worried about the motherboard. Some people report problems with an AGP card.

Should I go for a AMD64 4000+ and an AGP mobo? If so which one?
But I like the upgrade possibilities of the Asrock.

I dont multi-task too often but for the price differential like the possibilities of the X2.

    Thanks for ANY advice.

I would go for either an Abit, Asus, DFI, Gigabyte or MSI motherboard as those get the best benchmarks and are the most stable.

And if you have the money definitely go for the AMDx2 because if you want to upgrade to windows vista next year, you WILL need all the horsepower you can get.
