after downloadinding hijack this it wont open

i downloaded hijack this extracted the files. when i double click on it, it flashes on the screen for a second then nothing do you know what im doing wrong? i've had it before but foolishly deleted it.(dont worry i'm not posting it i'm following directions to fix problems myself) lol

 

also i tried to download it a few times would never do anything this time at last it would pop up for a sec

 

go to the folder where you put hijack this.. open it up. find the HiJackThis.exe and rename it to something else like

HiJT.exe and then try running it.

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

i renamed the file and it worked. i fix some things with hijack this but for some reason i cannot get my task manager to come up i did the ctrl+alt+del it came up for a sec then disappeared also did the right click on the bottem of the screen it came up for a second again then it was gone.can anyone help me?

 

follow the tutorial I posted please. It will assist in taking care of the problem. You have a nasty on your machine that is detecting window names and / or process names and closing them if they are apps that try to fix spyware issues.

 

i did everything i was told to do at the site avg found 45 viruses and trojons got rid of all of them updated and ran adware,spybot.a2sqared there okay now my only problem is i have 42 running processes i visited the site to check your hijack this log files they said alot were possible nasty but im scared to delete something i'm not sure of, is there someplace i can go to tell me the ones i should end?i deleted 2 they said were nasty
