These guys ate me alive with the Sandybridge defense and I think I am losing

 

Sounds like a similar discussion to another thread on here about rig building??

I might go Sandybridge, thats if I can get my processor to be returned/ exchanged for the other one... Plus I want the G1.Sniper 2 Mobo and I have to wait for that... watch it get sold out too then I will be pissed off cause I have to wait some more -_-. I am too impatient to wait. Damnit this sucks lol

 

OMG, how is the "feel" of the Thermaltake Level 10 GT? Does it feel too much like plastic or is it rugged enough for normal use? I see people complaining about having broken things in a month or two and am curious if that is a quality issue or them being ham-handed. I don't think a few complaints can dissuade me but I want to hear your experience--would you buy it again?

I want that case purely for looks!

 

I will be totally honest with you...


I bought the Thermal Take Armor case when it first came out and when 200mm fans were not standard. Simply put that case was perfect and it was made very well and very strong. I dropped it maybe 2 times... thats right the entire computer ... at a small distance of course.

No dings.. only scratches and it helped to keep my old Tri-core at an idle of 22-25 which was the lowest I had ever seen.

The level 10 GT = UGLY It disgusts me lol. I bought it simply for the air-flow and for the fact it had the little fan control, I was originally going to get the 800D and if I had gotten my Corsair H100 first I would have. I mean the Level 10 GT feels pretty darn sturdy but it feels like if I was to drop it something would chip off and break. The cable management is Excellent, and the hot swap bay is great! ... This thing is just a beast-Pro when it comes to air flow...

Would I buy it again, hrmm yeah! Because I don't want to chop the top off my case just to fit my Water cooler Rad inside my case lol. It is a good case, in fact I convinced a guy at FRYs Electronics to buy one because I have one lol. It has the best air flow hands down, what is a case for ?:major

 

Haha! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If I get one it will be the snow edition which will accentuate its UGLINESS.

I first saw the Level 10 in a magazine and liked its simplicity with no lights etc. but that is way too far out of price range. The GT seems like a reasonable approximation although I'm a little afraid the white will make it look enormous but I want to see every line of its beautiful design, lol.

Interesting that you had no problems with the cabling; the most common complaint was the cable clearance at the back cover. I'm glad you don't totally hate it because I can't quite talk myself out of it. I figured if I asked opinions I would get everyone saying don't waste your money XyX is much better for a third of the price.

It won't look so pretty when the dust hits that thing and you accidentally touch it with Thermal Compound >: ) . I have the black one, The inside of the case is sexy but I dont like how it looks so weird

 

I would love one of those towers, i really like the HDD bays but i would not be able to justify the cost so i will just have to stay with my Coolmaster HAF922.

Not me. I got a CoolerMaster Sniper case that came with 3 200mm fans(2 in, one out). Cable management is excellent too. It's the most I've ever spent on a case at $165.:-D

as far as I'm concerned its a damn nice case, i don't think its ugly at all. its a very sturdy case doesn't feel too much like plastic to me. i owned mine for 2 months now with nothing broken. i love the wire management setup and the MB tray has an opening where the CPU sets on the MB so you don't have to remove the MB to install coolers and such. it has plenty of cooling also.

Man those guys are freaking extreme and maybe a little bit crazy when it comes to builds... Seriously your average gamer like myself does not need 3 monitors for the experience. I do not need 3d because games are already in 3d... pfft real life is 3d. People getting caught in these gimmicks.... Im sure I have dominated many people in shooters and what not just with my laptop alone. Where are these guys getting these ideas that "EVERY PART" of your computer down to the cables has to be top notch? People are even fighting me on the Ram size, geez give me a break lol. I don't copy people I make up my own mind really. These guys look like they all read the same book and are doing everything line by line haha. Building is supposed to be fun, man when did everything change to the way it is now? wow... I am glad I build my first main computer through here with you guys, Overclock,net is way too extreme for the average guy like me who so happens to have a bit of money to put to his build. In no way am I a rich person at all, I am just fortunate.

 

I caved... I am gonna go 2600k with the G1.Sniper 2, but my RAM choices will change.
