Age of my computer

I have not been very active on here for awhile. Glad to see everyone. My question is, I do not remember when I bought my laptop and can't find the paperwork on it. I believe it to be about 3-4 yrs. old. Is there a way to find out how old the computer is on the device itself? If so, where and how do I find it. I have been looking to no avail.

If the built-on date is not present on the bottom of the laptop, then you can get a date, usually, from the bios. The Bios Date is a good indicator of how old the computer is.

Also, the date on the oldest files in the root directory can give you a clue as to when the OS was first loaded on the little PC.

The manufacture date will also be on the hard drive. (normally) I don't say that without some verification. I'm siting here with a Laptop HD in my hand and the manufacture date is clearly printed on the drive. That will usually be within 6 mo. of the assembly date of the PC, if the drive has never been changed.

Manufacturer & model if available always helps. Most times the labels on the bottom will wear off, but if you post a picture of it closed and open showing the screen and keyboard, someone should be able to figure it out.
