AGEIA PhysX cards

I am looking at two of these AGEIA PhysX cards to hopefully enhance my BF2142 experience. I am a little puzzled by the fact that I keep seeing two cards, one by BFG and the other by ASUS, which seem to have identical specs but a $50 price difference.

Links for these products on NEWEGG are as follows:

    BFG http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143055

    ASUS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121015

What is the difference between the two cards? The ASUS model seems to have more in the package contents but it is less expensive. Is the BFG card better in some way that I'm not seeing?

Additionally, a single person told me that one of these cards could decrease my FPS in a shooter. I realize this may be true for an UNSUPPORTED shooter but I am wondering if it could also be true for a SUPPORTED shooter. It seems possible to me, since I suppose this card could add a bunch of new particles for my video card to draw which were simply absent before because the software physics system was limited in the level of detail it could produce. Does this make sense?

I have a Dell dimension 8300 with a BFG 6800 GS OC video card, a sound blaster xfi Fatality, and 2 gigs of RAM. While I'm sure this PhysX card would increase graphical quality, is it also guaranteed to increase my frame rate or could it also possibly DECREASE it?

Any advice on these questions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
