   anyone know if a 4/8x AGP card will work on a 2x AGP bus. the fan on my old geforce 2 is screaming.

   yes, it should. All the AGP cards we have at the store say (AGP4x/8x) on the covers and we have never had a problem. You may want to google it just to make sure tho.
