    Hey Guys,

I got my mainboard replaced today, basically with the same model board, except my old one was Rev 1.0, This ones Rev 1.1.

I get into the BIOS and enable AGP Fast Writes, but when I check it via Everest Ultimate Edition it says its supported via my BIOS, but disabled.

Last week when I had my old board it worked fine, the only diffrence is I am using 256MB system memory until tommorow, so is it the lack of system memory that disables Fast Writes via XP Pro?

I am also using the latest nVidia Drivers, ForceWare 91.47, but I am unsure whether its a physical hardware issue (God I hope not!) or a Software issue.

I have a GeForce 6600GT 128MB, it was working before as I said, before the mainboard got killed and then replaced with this one. I am also using the SiS AGP v1.21 Driver, instead of Windows default AGP Driver.

    Any help much appreciated!

    Sincearly,

    Daaaaaaavod

Hmmmm...my first suspect would be the CMOS battery, although it would be peculiar on a new motherboard. I would confirm that it is working (its cheap and easy to replace - I wouldn't spend more than $5 CDN), and jumpers set to clear the BIOS are not enabled.

    Hi Mada,

The bios saves the Setting for AGP Fast Writes, when I reset and went into the bios just before to check it, its saved as 'Enabled'....

Ahhh, so then it is Everest showing the wrong information. I would trust your BIOS over a third party app, but I don't know of another means for checking that this is enabled to confirm.

Good luck in your hunt, and sorry I wasn't of more help to you!

Well I just downloaded PC Wizard 2006, and it also says AGP Fast Writes and Sideband Addressing is Supported but disabled.

So I re-installed the SIS AGP Driver v1.21, Now Side Band Addressing is Enabled, but AGP Fast Writes is still Disabled...

Hmmm, Its Active in the BIOS, I know my card supports it, I also know it was Enabled before and working, so it has to be a software issue, last time when it was working I was using the SiS AGP v1.21 Driver like now, But for some unknown reason, its now disabled. the only diffrence is this time I am using a newer revision of mainboard from last time.

Ack, still searching on some answers, I must get it enabled. It makes a drastic diffrence to performance for me.
