AGV free

I am trying to down load AVG on my mother-in-laws computer. I can install it fine but when I restart the computer it freezes on the windows 98 startup screen, then I go into safe mode and remove it and everything starts fine. Any advice?????????

 

There was / is a problem with AVG and Roxio for awhile that can cause those symptoms. Has to do with the drivers for Roxio, does she have CD Creator installed.

She has Nero StartSmart and Kodak easy share. Is there another anti virus program I can install? Or is there any component of AVG that I could not install through custom that would help?

 

Sure, you can try Avast. I think it runs well on Windows 98 and alot of members here really like it.

Yeah Avast works on Windows 98. I have used it on Windows 98SE and it works fine
