Please help. I'm so new at this...

Please help, I'm only 15 and haven't got the foggiest clue what anything in this Hijack This log file is. To be honest, I don't even know if I'm posting this in the right place or if I got the log file correctly. I was just told to do it, so I did, and now I'm here. Please help.

Edit by bjgarrick: Unrequested, Inline HJT log removed!

    Thank you very much!

Re: Please help. I'm so new at this...

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Some weird stuff has been happening for a long while. Random pop-ups, "low memory" warnings, "WinFixer2005," etc. I really need help. I don't know what to do. I did all the stuff I'm supposed to before posting, and I know I should wait to post the Hijack This logfile until asked, but I have it, so I'll just do it now. If you can help without reading it, more power to you. Thank you very much.

    crazydiamond568,

You have many issues that need to be addressed. First you MUST stay in one thread so post in here from now on, SPD will assist you from here but to keep things moving along please address the below.

I notice you have more than one antivirus so pick one and uninstall the other. Also you will need to uninstall Ewido as this will block parts of the fixes we will have you run. Next I will need you to follow the below steps to make a dent in these infections.

First, download the following two files, create a folder on your desktop, call it TSC. Save these 2 files there!
NOTE: You will need to extract the contents of the lpt851.zip file

    Sysclean Package

    Pattern.zip

Once you have these downloaded into the folder you just created, REBOOT INTO SAFE MODE!

Once in Safe Mode double click the file sysclean.com. When the system cleaner loads, click SCAN to start the scanner. After you complete the scan reboot and attach a fresh HJT log and SPD will assist you from there.

    Good Luck!:)

Also please install HijackThis to a safer location such as C:\Program Files\HJT or C:\Program File\HijackThis.

Almost, first you need to pick ONE antivirus program and uninstall the others as running more than one will cause system conlicts.

Also as a precaution uninstall the AOL Spyware protection so it will not try and block this next fix.

After you address these few issues reboot and attach a fresh HJT log.

Which of my virus protection programs should I keep? Any preference? I didn't want to get rid of any until I found out which to rid myself of.

Personally I would keep AVG AntiVirus, I use it and love it. Havn't had any problems with it. Norton, however I used to love but had many problems with so I swithced to AVG.
