Aim 6.5

How do I get rid of these annoying large window popups that appear in pairs every few hours or so? I'm not going to get rid of AIM and there are no settings within the program itself to keep them from popping up. I have my firewall set to not allow them to "connect" to the internet, but that doesn't seem to prevent them from popping up at all. They just pop up and show "Internet could not display this page" messages. Any clues? :confused :confused

 

You might have malware on your system. Head over to the forum's malware section and read up on how to scan your system. Also check out Aim Ad Hack. It removes all the ads and nasties that come packed in with aim. I love it!

 

I downloaded and installed AIM Ad Hack and still nothing. The windows opped up today.

I've already been to the malware forum for this issue and chaslang assisted me. He went to the URL in the windows that were popping up and it was an ad for comcast. He concluded that it was something from Comcast be they are my ISP. HOWEVER, I noticed just the other day that the ads popping up in the windows were the same ads that were showing at the top of the AIM buddy list window. I therefore concluded that they were coming from the AIM program. But now that AIM Ad Hack removed the add section at the top of the AIM buddy list, I have no clue where they are coming from.
