Computer info (as taken from window):
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 1

    Dell DIMENSION 8400 Intel
    Pentium 2 CPU 3.00 GHz
    2.99 GHz
    512 MB of RAM

We don't use AOL, but have AIM.

We got that annoying "bloodhound" thing and "about.blank" a while back, but they're under control now with our FOUR anti-spyware programs. However, about the time we picked up the virus(es)/spyware, AIM stopped working one account at a time. Whenever we try to IM a buddy, we get a message about an unexpected error. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, but to no avail... help!

Here's the details of the error:
    AppName: aim.exe AppVer: 5.9.3797.0 ModName: msvcr71.dll
    ModVer: 7.10.3052.4 Offset: 00010428

    Files included in error report
    C:\DOCUME~1\(my name)~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERAB.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

I can give more details (the 'technical information about the error report), but I didn't want to post it if it's unnecessary 'cause it's LONG.

i'm not too hip on all the computer stuff, but i would imagine not having service pack 2 installed is helping any. i believe that SP2 patched up a lot of security issues with SP1. my 2 cents

I lost the article I had for you, will look for it later. You shouldn't have to sign out of the "TaskPanel", there is some kind of setting there you can use.

Check back later, maybe I can find it.
