AIM died on me *grrr*

So, I was sitting here in the middle of the day and decided to get on AIM- problem is, when I started it up, it got to the third step and sat there for about twenty minutes before I realized it wasn't going anywhere and closed it (only to get a "program not responding" message). I tried logging into AIM Express and it said something along the lines of "Instant Messaging is down," or whatever, so I figured AIM must be down altogether- how wrong I was. My bro was still able to sign on AIM- I tried to sign onto MSN and that took a good long time to respond, too. Like I said in a previous thread, I have a lot of space free now, I was wondering if it could possibly be some kind of adware or spyware (sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum).
