    okay I have not clicked on this supposed link but there is some bin laden flash game virus going around that once you click on it, it automatically IM's everyone on your buddy list... i have alot of friends who use AIM so i'm sure they'll all get infected with this (if it is a virus/worm)...

    just wanted to know if there were any simple removal instructions that i could provide them with... thank you

    I am not yet sure if this actually contains a virus or any malware. I got the link from a friend (it sent it to all on her buddylist), and, as usual, My computer is not succeptible to those little tricks such as AIM hijackers and whatnot. I played the game, its actually fun.

    nothing was sent to anyone from my screename, nor did I notice any virus activity. It did install a program called "ChannelUp.exe" which ran as a process, but once i closed it, it never appeared again.

    while this could have something bad with it, as long as you have proper security, (Anti-Virus and Firewall) you should be just fine.

    apparently you have to uinstall/delete Buddylinks Messenger Center in Add/Remove Programs to fix your AIM... that link apparently downloads a program onto your computer

    This is from the NTBUGTRAQ list:

    NAI have it documented here;
    http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_101007.htm

    A chat popup occurs which includes a link and the phrase "check out this
    link". It purports to display something about the capture of Osama.
    Others are very polite about what they're calling it, I call it Adware.
    You have to accept the terms of the installer in order for it to run,
    but in those terms you agree to allow them to send the link to all of
    your contacts in AIM. It will also send more spam repeatedly to those
    contacts.

    FWIW: I use DeadAIM (http://www.jdennis.net/) and it removes all the adds from AIM. I have been very happy with it. Also, we did have one user at work fall for this Osama deal.
