Ok, Ive got one intake fan in the front of my case (its capable of harboring 4 intake in the same area all 80mm) one exhaust in one of the two rear 80mm fan areas and then my PSU which has 2 80mm exhaust fans, one in the front and one in back, i was wondering if i should put the other fan i have in back as an intake in front and leave the PSU up to sucking the exhaust out the rear...

There are quite a few articles on the net and through personal testing has been, that exhaust is more important than intake. The exhaust fans pull out hot air and therefore will cause ambient air to enter the case. Where as pulling in ambient air( front fan)will not cause enough presure inside the case to push out hot out, unless your case is airtight.

So, put the fan in back as an exhaust.

Try both and see which gives the best results, one may improve your temps more just due to working well with the convection already in your case. :)

TBH you need a balance of both pulling cooler air in and expelling it out the back, also apart from fans, the way you cables are arranged is very important to airflow, what you dont want is small pockets of dead air that will cause warm spots.

Rounded cables are good but even just using sprial/cable wrap and cable ties helps reduce the surface area of the cables.

and one of the most important bits last of all KEEP the inside of the case clean and as free of dust as possible.

ok, so what ill do is take one exhaust fan off the back and put it in the front so ill have 2 intake in front and the PSU will use its dual fans to suck hot air out... My cables are pretty neat, enough so their lined around the sides of the case, taped and zip tied of course...

Make sure that if you have an open fan hole in the back of your case you block it with duct tape because the air will take the path of least resistance and will just come in the hole in the back and straight out the psu fans bypassing the rest of the case.

WOW! my comp usually sat around the 52ish degree mark idle and then i switched it so theres 2 intake in front and the 2 psu as exhaust, now my comp sits around the 45 degree mark!!!! And theres a little air blockage too!, Im switching to round cables!!! i wonder how much my temp would drop then, Now all i need to do is tape up the rear exhaust holes and see how she does... It feels almost like the uncovered holes are sucking in a tiny amount of air...

Did you try 2 exhaust fans for comparison's sake? Also how did the system temp and CPU change, did they both go down. I've recently bought a P180 and found I could drop the CPU temp but it increased the system temp, go figure.

I know I said a balance of fans, but I wouldnt rely on the PSU 2xfans for optimum airflow, generally its best to have a fan just below the PSU, inline with the CPU expelling air out back and 1 or two fans in front.

So I would try Ruebarbs comparison of having 1 fan in front and 1 below the PSU at the back and see what thr temps are..... you never know it just may have been the cable managment that lowered temps?

example mine is setup this way

2x80mm fans at lower front pluuging air in ( over HDs ... keeps them cool too )
1x80mm at back inline with CPU expelling air
PSU fans ( they consist of 1x120mm directly above CPU and 1x80mm at back )

Ill try that too, right now the 2 fans are sucking air over the HD too... Although i may just get a panaflow tail adapter for anotehr 80mm fan i have... Anyone know where i can find a 2 pin to molex adapter?
