No but I have thought of doing a similar thing, instead of using the custom water block why not tig weld some alu plates onto the heatsink 'water tight' and turn that into the water block, compare the amount of inner surface area in your custom water block compared to the surface area of stock heatsink fins it would release the heat into the water much faster due to the amount of contact between the metal and water

    forgive the quick sketch :)

Some people post silly threads like that  :) Theres very few guys on here who like to construct custom cooling, its fun and all i have a an xp 3200 heatsink fitted to an fx 5700 which works great,I only attempted it because I wouldnt fork out for a new heatsink and was bored, when it comes to my main system though a64 3500 OC'd to 2.6 and 6800GT I'm not gonna start messin around tryna get my own cooling to function at risk to the system so I just plummed for a copper xp 90 and an nv5 silencer,I'd rather do that than fork out for a new system when my custom cooling explodes :D
