he could have kept the tornado's to himself...sheesh. We've been up since about 3AM *thud* when the alarms started going off alerting us of tornado activity in the area. They are still assessing damage nearby but it doesn't sound like it was to severe and I haven't heard of any loss of life thank God.

Local stations say the beaches can expect this type of activity throughout the day b/c we are on the right side of this tropical storm and b/c of where it is coming ashore. Times like this I don't like living on the third floor. Could be a heck of lot worse but I'm admittedly a chicken...I don't think there is anything that spooks me more than tornado's. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f368/star-n-abby/smilies/nervous.gif

    Gonna be a looooong day...

Keep head down and stay safe Abby and remember dont get caught in the shower when the siren goes off

Tornados are very un-reliable in the direction they take... so could turn at a moments notice... so best to be weary of them.

Oh I'm alert! I think! I have toothpicks propping my eyelids open ;) We have a NOAA weather radio and that thing sure keeps us on our toes...no way we can NOT hear it when it goes off and I have the TV on to the local station also. Keeping the patio door open also so I can hear what's going on outside better.:)

Managed to get my shower out of the way with in-between watches and warnings. The sun was trying to peek through for a bit but it just started raining again. I like it when it rains like this...no thunder or lightening...just a steady rain..bet the fires are out now too so that's an added bonus.:)

......and see better. That might be the good thing of being on the third floor. :)

A few years ago yes. The trees have filled out so much that during the day, even with the blinds open I have to turn a light on to read b/c there isn't enough light anymore.:( The pine trees which run the length of our patio, dining room and around the corner are the worst b/c they have some kind of vine that has filled in all the open areas all the way to the top of the trees...which are now quite a bit taller than the building.

I do see a lot of really neat looking birds though.:)
