All about Myspace HTML code

hey this might be my best bet on finding out how to put HTML to my profile on myspace...well lets see...i'm not a HTML illiterate because i know enough about tags, attributes and values..what my problem is that i tried writing HTML on my profile in the text field you know..CSS, Background, Color all that good stuff...but it didn't work..and its aggravating to not get it to work..so i need some help...have i come to the right place....and i need to know in which text field do i put the HTML to make it work..and if i only need to use certain tags to do what i want..and not follow the structure of the HTML way that is:
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
and put all the other tags where appropriate, or do i just use the tags to do what want for example...
<body background="http://www.geocities.com/nicasincero87/picture.jpg">
</body>
well if anyone can help me that would be great..thank god for the forums

They may just not allow html in the profile page or the regular page in that matter either. I haven't had time to check out MySpace, but I've heard from others having the same problem that they couldn't get html to work either.

I looked into the myspace thing. You should be able to upload an image you want to use or link to an image you want to use for the profile. I looked at the tour, and they had one in there with a picture near the profile. So just look around the profile settings.

Nica, I dunno if you found out what you needed to yet but I myself just joined myspace and was wondering the same thing. I googled for info on it and came accross your post before I figured it out, now that I have, I figured I'd join up so I may be of some help with this I've found the folowing info very useful ...it worked for me

sayo you guys were talking about myspace...do you know how to get the code for the media player that bands have on their page...I see some bands have it posted in their bulletin...how do you get the code for that?

Hey there Nica here,
well hey you know i forgot all about this thread and its been a long time,
but well this is what i learned about doing your profile on myspace,
and that is that you do everything by CSS [Cascading Style Sheets]
i learned why i couldn't do it in the HTML format now, and its because everything on myspace is controlled with the CSS..but of course you can put tags into your page for example when writing you text use the <FONT> tag and apply it, things like adding musicvids and videogames are also possible and not hard to do, because to do that all you need is to copy the code from the site where it is, sites like 2flashgames.com and miniclip.com have games where you can look at there code by Ctrl+U or by going to View> View Source or Source.and then just look for the code for games and videos it typically starts with a <EMBED> tag which don't quote me on that, but i think so...another important thing to make your profile is the styles. In CSS when you write you typically begin like this: (i'll show with the example how to manipulate a certain type of text style)
.text, .btext, .redtext, .redbtext {
color:#000000;
font-family:arial,tahoma,verdanal
text-decoration;
}

the above are example of a few styles within myspace indicated as ".text,.btext...etc..."
and this is how you control the look of the page, and with CSS its really cool and it really allows you to control the page and look...with all the tags "p,b,div,textarea, table..etc..."
oh yeah and one important link, is this website called "pimpwebpage.com"
is really handy when it comes to making your profile nice..and it helps people who don't know about HTML or CSS

Hey i think i know what you want to do, and sorry i can't be much of help...
i would continue to go other places to try to find out, by the way i posted a link along time ago in this thread of this girl who helps with HTML she has a profile at myspace so the link will take you to her page. so if anything ask her she might be able to give you some info, i will say this that it is possible or not to do what you want to do..i'll give you this example of css code that changes how the Blog Page looks:

}

i was looking at the code for that particular page "for what you want" the page where people view your picks but i didn't find anything like the example above...

I got a myspace profile and I got it customized a bit. I didn't take the time to actually sit there and write the code for it. I went to http://www.mygen.co.uk/

It has a profile generator. Just click on profile generator and follow the instructions. Easy stuff. It generates the code for you and just copy the code and paste it in the about me portion of your profile.

You can modify the background, make pictures your background, change the scroll bars, font color and sizes, etc.

so yeah, just thought i drop this link here for everyone, the site is createblog.com and its really nice, i found it to be very informative with alot of myspace related stuff, whether its just how to add music vids or how to customize your blog page..alot of things to look at it, and well it also has for xanga, livejournal, webdesign, programming..etc..
