    Hi,

I have an interesting and recent problem. If I download a file with windows explorer, its file extension is automatically converted to .exe, even if it is a jpeg, zip, or any other file. I have no idea why this happens but it is a huge problem, because I have to rename every file extension manually.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.....

Had this issue, took a while to find the fix, then I didn't keep it in my notes.. it has something to do with file types and MIME types ..
but try in IE - hit ALT - click tools - Internet Options - Advanced, scroll down to security and uncheck Enable Protected mode & uncheck Do not save encrypted pages to disk.

I don't think you mean Windows Explorer which is a file manager not a downloader.
Are you downloading with Internet Explorer and if so, what version?
Do you have another browser? (I always have at least two different browsers on every computer and my android tablet. If there is a glitch with one, I try a different browser to see if the problem is browser specific or a problem with a setting on my computer).
